Clinical Studies on Morpheus8 Microneedling Rosacea Treatment

A clinical study on the effectiveness of fractional microneedling on rosacea was conducted by the Seoul National University Hospital Research Fund and National Research Foundation of Korea. They reported that fractional microneedling radiofrequency therapy like Morpheus 8 resulted in significant improvements in the appearance and inflammation of rosacea, in a study of patients with mild to moderate rosacea.

In this study, 21 patients (20 females, 1 male) with rosacea were treated with two RF microneedling sessions 4 weeks apart on one side of their face.  Patients were then assessed at 4, 8, and 12 weeks after their second RF microneedling session.

Researchers in that study saw clinical improvements in 81% of the patients on the treated side of their face. Photometric measurements of redness showed significant reductions in rosacea on the treated side, compared with no reduction on the untreated side. Patients in the study also reported less itching, heat, burning, or pricking on the treated side.

Additionally, no serious adverse effects were reported during the RF microneedling treatments in the study – indicating that Morheus8 is very safe for rosacea reduction.
