Electrolysis – Grand Rapids

Electrolysis is used for permanent removal of unwanted hair, and is safe for all types of hair and all skin types. Electrolysis is performed at SpaMedica GR in Grand Rapids by Amy Howe who has over 30 years of experience with electrolysis and laser hair removal.

A fine sterile probe is inserted into the hair follicle and a very low electrical current is transmitted to the follicle causing the dermal papilla, the matrix/the bulge to be destroyed. The treated hair is then removed with a tweezers.

Electrolysis treatments take approximately 30 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Electrolysis is frequently combined with laser hair removal to give a more complete result. Laser hair removal and electrolysis are only able to target the hair that is in the active growth phase (Anagen Phase) and therefore you should expect that you will require 4-6 treatments to effectively achieve the best results.
