How the ICON IPL Photofacial Reverses Sun Damage

First, IPL therapy can reverse sun damage and make a person look years younger, by stimulating collagen production – which tightens and smooths skin and repairs tell-tale signs of aging like wrinkles and fine lines. Benefits of the ICON IPL Photofacial for Reversing Sun Damage

The ICON IPL Photofacial offers several advantages over other laser skin rejuvenation treatments. To begin with, ICON makes the procedure safe for darker skin tones – unlike many other lasers that are not safe for brown or black or tanned skin. The ICON IPL Photofacial uses longer wavelength lasers called Nd:YAG lasers (or 1064 nm lasers). These longer wavelengths lower the laser frequency, so that darker skin can safely be treated.

Additionally, the ICON Photofacial is non-ablative, meaning that it does not damage or remove the outer surface of the skin, like many other lasers do. This makes the ICON IPL Photofacial safer and much more comfortable than ablative laser procedures.
